Eastern Washington is famous for apples, berries, wheat, and wine grapes. Washington State has a diverse range of eco-systems for the adventurous family to explore. One will find a rugged coastline, mountains, volcanoes, and hundreds of coastal islands to explore.

Seattle

Seattle, home of Software giant Microsoft, has plenty of great places to visit. Seattle is anything but ordinary. It's a place where bike messengers share elevators with world-renowned researchers. Main places of Seattle are The Space Needle, was designated a historical landmark in 1999, Washington State Ferries which is one of Washington State’s largest tourist attractions. It's also the second largest mass transit system in Washington, and the largest ferry system in the United States. Tillicum Village is yet another wonderful item for the relaxing atmosphere it provides for tourists of all ages. Underground Touring, Safeco Field is the fabulous home of the Seattle Mariners.

Snoqualmie Falls

Snoqualmie Falls is one of the best attractions for nature lovers. This falls area is landscaped with native trees and shrubs and comes alive with floral color in the spring. It is a wonderful place with its exquisite views and breathtaking waterfall. This place has a great history of housing the world’s first completely underground electric generating facility.

One can also take a side-trip to the Snoqualmie Railroad Museum and train ride and many adventures in Snoqualmie Falls in Seattle.

Mt Rainier

Mt. Rainier is an active stratum volcano in Washington, located about an hour from Seattle. It is the highest peak and is protected within Mount Rainier National Park. This is best place for adventurers. Hiking the Mt. Rainier trails is a great experience for the whole family. Biking Activity in Mount Rainier is also popular.

Mt. Rainier National Park has crystal clear fresh water streams and rivers naturally populated with various fish. San Juan Islands

The paradise known as The San Juan Islands, consist of 172 islands with names. Three major islands are Lopez, Orcas and San Juan Island. One can reach them by a Washington State ferry, airplane or boat.

History comes alive in the islands. Historical museums on the three main islands are full of fascinating history. Richardson Village on Lopez, Orcas Hotel, Orcas Island Art Works and Rosario Mansion on Orcas or American Camp and English Camp on San Juan Island are also places to visit.

Shaw Island is the forth island receiving ferry service although it has only 170 full-time residents and virtually no overnight lodging. Shopping is done at the store by the ferry landing. It’s a great island for bicyclists, nature lovers and people who long for peace and quiet. Some other smaller islands are Blakely, Stuart, Cypress, Guemes, Decator, Waldron and Sucia. All of the islands are endowed with wonderful natural beauty.
